Malek Shafii
Malek started at ITK at the end of 2023. From day one, he has shown his passion for developing solid software.
Malek's life has been challenging. He was born and raised in Afghanistan - but has had to live abroad as a refugee for most of his life.
This includes countries such as Pakistan, Iran, the Netherlands and Canada. Malek moved to Denmark 6 years ago, where he is married and has 3 children.
Malek has a degree in sociology and has had a long career producing documentaries on this aspect - more than 40 in total!
Malek later took an education in software development - which he uses to our great pleasure here at ITK.
3 (fun) facts about Malek
- Malek has been invited to Tokyo University later in 2024, to present one of his documentaries. What an honor.
- Malek has contributed to Google Maps as a local guide, and his contributions worldwide include places he's added, reviews and photos that have received around 50 million views.
- Malek is a keen mountain biker - uses his free time to get out into nature.
What is my biggest internet achievement?
I think that shifting from art to programming after spending a long time working in the field of art is a significant achievement.
