KVUC
IT-Kartellet has assisted KVUC in testing Moodle and has inspired new ways of thinking about teaching and system integration.
KVUC is Copenhagen's Adult Education Center - an independent institution under the state - and offers education in the following areas:
- General Adult Education – AVU
- Higher Preparatory Examination – HF
- Gymnasial Supplementary Education - GSK
- Preparatory Adult Education - FVU
In the school year 2013/14, KVUC had 13,624 CPR-students or 3,674 annual students. As of June 2014, KVUC employs a total of 520 staff members (calculated in full-time equivalents); of these, 300 are HF/GSK teachers and 117 are AVU/FVU/OBU teachers.
Renewal of Teaching
Adopting new systems is a significant task. Therefore, IT-Kartellet has well-prepared KVUC's teachers by introducing them to Moodle in a motivating and inspiring manner. Good teaching creates engagement and innovation, and it inspires renewal and better knowledge sharing and exchange of experiences in working with teaching materials. Therefore, the existing tools in Moodle should be utilized, which IT-Kartellet has a lot of experience with.
"After recommendations from both CBS and RUC, KVUC chose IT-Kartellet to facilitate the test of Moodle for a small group of the school's teachers and students in August 2014. The result of the test led KVUC to decide to continue with Moodle. IT-Kartellet supported the installation and simultaneously introduced Moodle to the school's test teachers.
The collaboration with IT-Kartellet has been close and positive – both during the test and subsequently, where KVUC uses IT-Kartellet for teaching and consulting. Together, we have created a really good framework for teaching KVUC’s teachers in Moodle."
